In your prepping activities, are you prepping for smaller but negative changes in your world or one big bang that changes everything forever? What I mean by that is that there are smaller issues we might come up against where your prepping plans might come in useful if we have made the appropriate allowances such as:
- Prolonged Power cut
- Flash Flood
- Redundancy
- Illness
- Localised civil unrest
Then there are the ‘big bang’ events which will test those prepping plans to the limit:
- EMP attack
- War
- Climate change
- Global pandemic
- National/International civil unrest
- Economic Collapse
Of course there are many other examples for each category but my point is that your prepping should be for both groups of events. If you only prep for the big events, you will probably be covered for some of the smaller ones, but not for all unless you enhance your plans to include more specific requirements. A simple example may be that if all of your prepping supplies are in a cellar, outbuilding or even on the ground floor, waiting for TEOTWAWKI, how will you cope in the event of a flash flood and your supplies are damaged or lost completely. You’ve prepped for a big TEOTWAWKI event and a freak localized event has caught you off-guard. Another might be that you have prepped for that huge economic collapse but long before then you get made redundant and wished you’d brought your debt down much more.
Prepping calls for attention to detail and quite a vivid imagination. Multiple scenarios considered, rated and accounted for even if you yourself think you are mad for considering them. If they are within the realms of possibility, they make the list. You may not expend too much effort and expense on them but must consider what can be done with what you have or what you might need to improve your chances.
